What car insurance must I have in Austria?
The official information portal says compensation claims after an accident are covered, up to the insured sum, by statutory third-party vehicle liability insurance. If you are at fault, that insurance covers the other driver's damage and not your own. If the damage is more than the insured sum, the driver who is responsible pays the difference.
