When does a car need a § 57a inspection in Austria?
oesterreich.gv.at says a car in class M1, other than a taxi or an ambulance, follows the 3-2-1 rule. The first inspection is three years after first registration. The next is two years after the first inspection. Every later inspection is one year later. The due month is the month punched on the sticker, which is the month of first registration. You can have it done from the start of the month before until the end of the fourth month after, without moving the next date. Take the cleaned vehicle and the registration certificate to an authorised inspection place.
