What is Family allowance in Austria?
Parents whose life is centred in Austria can receive it for a child who lives with them, or for whom they pay most of the support. The parents' own pay does not decide it. When a child is born in Austria, the tax office checks the civil register and pays it without an application. If a bank account is missing, they ask for it. You still do not file the benefit form. In other cases you apply in FinanzOnline. It can be paid back for five years from the month you apply. It generally runs until the child's 24th birthday, and until the 25th in the cases the page names. From the calendar year the child turns 20, the child's own taxable income has a ceiling the page prints. The page also prints the monthly amounts by age. The child tax credit is paid with it. You do not apply for that credit separately. A payment is not guaranteed. Confirm on the official page.
